Lovely 10K yellow gold figural flower brooch with a brilliant round cut blue zircon set in a serrated bezel. Graceful, flowing lines in the design with engraved texture on the leaves and around the center of the flower. The fully functional handmade safety clasp and hinge could date this back to the Edwardian or Art Nouveau era, but the design is closer to the early Retro period, probably the late 1930s. In excellent vintage condition with minimal wear to the gold or the stone, which is beautifully cut and a magical shade of blue. Dimensions: 2.25 x 7/8 inches (5.5 x 2.1 cm). Zircon is 6 mm, about .75 carats. Weight is 3.7 grams. Markings: 10K (confirmed by precious metal analyzer) and a series of engraved numbers and letters: B48316 RWTU. Untested, as-is.
